Earlier in the season I shared “Scary Chic” decor for Halloween.  I’ve transitioned into Thanksgiving with some white candles, wheat, and leaves from outside.  It was as simple as it sounds!       I’m a sucker for vintage linens.  No exception with this beautiful runner that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. These pumpkins and wheat add the perfect amount of texture.  Both items found at Michael’s. “Fall has always been my favorite season.  The time when everything bursts with… Read more »

Now that the big projects in the house are finished I can finally share all of our paint choices with you!  About four of these colors were used when we staged my mom’s house to sell.  I loved them so much that I decided to use them in my own home. Anew Gray – Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray – Sherwin Williams Since we have an open floor plan we wanted to use a neutral greige color.  To add a little… Read more »

Every year my husband tells me that our Halloween decor isn’t scary enough.  I actually don’t usually decorate for Halloween at all, I decorate for Fall.  White pumpkins, wheat, burlap, mums…you get the gist.  Since our son is a year and a half I really want to start making the holidays extra special for him.  I hope that years from now he looks back at his childhood knowing I went all out for him during these times. Derek raves about… Read more »

As I have said many times before, our house is small.  Finishing the basement gives us extra living space and I really want to make that space count for us and for the purpose of resale. Living in a small home has taught me to really think about what I want each space to be –   I am all about having toys around the house for kids to play with but I still want it to look like adults… Read more »

Five months in the making folks! I am happy to say that the bathroom is finally finished and I am even happier with the way that it came out!  All of the sources can be found at the end of the post.   Wall Decor This is a collection of old and new frames.  Some of them where purchased from this Etsy shop. Then I spray painted all of them so that they would be the same color.  Once they were… Read more »

A little necessary background info for this post – our house was the first home that my parents ever lived in. They moved out before I was born and kept it as a rental. Almost two years ago we decided to buy it from my mom and renovate it. My dad passed away nine years ago so coming across certain elements of the house that he worked on has been really special. This is what our bedroom looked like before we… Read more »

Celebrating Blake’s 1st birthday has been something that we have been planning and looking forward to for a while! Here is some of the decor that we used for our western themed party.  Links for the party details can be found at the bottom of the post.  Derek made the chicken wire frames with some spare wood and Minwax Jacobean stain.  We used them to display the monthly photos that we took of Blake.  We gave cowboy/cowgirl hats out to the… Read more »

Hi friends! If you’re thinking…what’s with all the tablescapes? I am with you. Let me explain… We started our bathroom reno the first week of November and it is still going on.  In the midst of that happening we started to demo and finish our basement. Starting new projects before we finish old ones is what we do best in this house!  We call it multitasking. Also, Blake is crawling! Yay! These are all fun and exciting things but it… Read more »

This weather has me daydreaming about fresh flowers and pastels! Which is why I decided to use florals, shades of pink, and moss accents this year for Valentine’s day.  I used a lot of red for our Christmas tablescape and with all of the snow and ice still on the ground I needed a little Spring in my life! I used these little cards, a stamp, and pink ink from Michael’s to make love notes for my family.  They could… Read more »

About six months ago I called my husband and told him to pick up this beauty on his way home from work.  As you can imagine, this is not his favorite thing to do.  I am always sending him to people’s homes to pick up furniture that we don’t have room for. Anyway we have limited closet space in this house so I had been looking for extra storage. I believe in found furniture soulmates. I know that sounds ridiculous…. Read more »
