I started out the holiday season with a simple and neutral tablescape… We will be hosting Christmas Day in our house for the first time this year so I wanted to switch it up a bit and add some color. If you look at the first picture you can see that I really didn’t change that much.  The red berries were on sale from Michaels for $1 and I bought the roses at the food store this morning. I am… Read more »

Celebrating the Christmas season with our son this year has been a blast.  We were so excited to have our first holiday photo session with Patricia-Marie Photography.  I can always count on her to capture some of the most memorable moments of our life.  She has been taking beautiful photos for us since Blake was in utero!   A little bit of background…we took these photos in the very beginning of November on a gorgeous FALL day.  I wanted to… Read more »

I was so excited when I found this birch wood wrapping paper at Pier 1.   Green ink and wood tags are going to give this paper a nice pop of color.  I decided to use different shades of green as an accent color with neutral wrapping paper.  All of the items below can be found at Michael’s except for the wrapping paper. Another successful find in the check-out aisle at Michael’s – a nice monogram stamp.   Happy Wrapping!

We are so excited to spend this season with our new little addition to the family! Last Christmas we got our tree from Carter’s in Miller Place.  It’s right around the corner from where we live and I actually took my first steps there when I was little.  A great experience if you live on Long Island and haven’t gotten your tree yet! Our first family tree! I love this general store right outside the tree farm! Would love to… Read more »

We’ve had some progress in the past couple of weeks with our bathroom reno.  Here are some before pictures so that you can see the mess we are working with.   I shared my inspiration board for the bathroom here.  So far we have put in a new tub, a new tile floor, a vanity, and painted.  Tomorrow we have someone coming to template our countertop.   Here it is with the new tile and paint.  We chose a white… Read more »

The Christmas decorating has begun! I have been feeling a little under the weather but on Sunday I finally felt enough like myself to start decorating. Started with a tablescape…   This is the third time that I’ve used these birch wood rounds. I can’t get enough of them. Especially paired with the white cake stand and bell jar!   Picked up a few boxes of silver and gold bells at Marshalls.  I love the way they look in this… Read more »

I never really “decorated” our little living space when we moved in because of all of the construction.  Once we had Blake and I knew our friends and family were going to come over to visit him I figured it was time to throw something together. The funny thing is…this couch is now in storage.  I still love it though and when we move I’m sure I’ll use it again. This room was supposed to be a secondary living space… Read more »

I’ve been having so much fun decorating for Fall.  Here are a few DIY projects that I worked on for the season. DIY Fall Sign To be totally honest I really didn’t have any direction for this project.  Derek had some extra wood and I wanted to make a rustic looking sign…that’s it! At one point I actually thought this would end up in the trash but the result surprised me! Pumpkin Bell Jars Floating Candles for Fall

Last month we had a beautiful baptism for our little guy.  I thought I would share some of the personal touches and projects that made the day extra special.     These are the centerpieces that I made for the tables along with the favors that we gave out.
