About a year ago we started out with an inspiration board and a lackluster space…

Our finished product today is…

The paint color is Alpaca by Sherwin Williams.  The crib, bedding, and light fixture are from RH baby&child. We found the dresser and end table in an antique store for $75 and I refinished them with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in cream.

These signs were a custom order from Vinyl Crafts on Etsy. The mirror is from Homegoods.

Derek made these bookshelves using spare moulding. I thought it would be a good place to put the vintage buoys that we bought before Blake was born.

I have updated the shadow boxes since taking the picture. I think the family tree with black and white photos of our family is my favorite. My mother-in-law made the quilt and embroidered Blake’s name and birthday on it.

I have to say that my husband thought I was crazy when I picked out the dresser and end table at an antique store.  He was totally grossed out by how damaged and dirty they were but I knew they had potential!

The before picture does not do this justice. There were pen and marker all over the outside and the drawers had some questionable goo (probably old lotion) on the inside.

The before pictures don’t really show how horrible they were. There was pen and marker all over the outside of the dresser.

The drawers had some questionable goo (probably old lotion) on the inside. Looking back I am actually surprised that they cleaned up as well as they did.

After a little TLC (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Cream and dark wax) you can see that the dresser cleaned up nicely! As for the inside – I scrubbed, repainted, and added new liners and they look as good as new!

I can't believe I paid $75 for these two pieces, turned out to be a total steal!
