Earlier in the season I shared “Scary Chic” decor for Halloween.  I’ve transitioned into Thanksgiving with some white candles, wheat, and leaves from outside.  It was as simple as it sounds!       I’m a sucker for vintage linens.  No exception with this beautiful runner that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. These pumpkins and wheat add the perfect amount of texture.  Both items found at Michael’s. “Fall has always been my favorite season.  The time when everything bursts with… Read more »

Every year my husband tells me that our Halloween decor isn’t scary enough.  I actually don’t usually decorate for Halloween at all, I decorate for Fall.  White pumpkins, wheat, burlap, mums…you get the gist.  Since our son is a year and a half I really want to start making the holidays extra special for him.  I hope that years from now he looks back at his childhood knowing I went all out for him during these times. Derek raves about… Read more »

Hi friends! If you’re thinking…what’s with all the tablescapes? I am with you. Let me explain… We started our bathroom reno the first week of November and it is still going on.  In the midst of that happening we started to demo and finish our basement. Starting new projects before we finish old ones is what we do best in this house!  We call it multitasking. Also, Blake is crawling! Yay! These are all fun and exciting things but it… Read more »

This weather has me daydreaming about fresh flowers and pastels! Which is why I decided to use florals, shades of pink, and moss accents this year for Valentine’s day.  I used a lot of red for our Christmas tablescape and with all of the snow and ice still on the ground I needed a little Spring in my life! I used these little cards, a stamp, and pink ink from Michael’s to make love notes for my family.  They could… Read more »

I started out the holiday season with a simple and neutral tablescape… We will be hosting Christmas Day in our house for the first time this year so I wanted to switch it up a bit and add some color. If you look at the first picture you can see that I really didn’t change that much.  The red berries were on sale from Michaels for $1 and I bought the roses at the food store this morning. I am… Read more »

Celebrating the Christmas season with our son this year has been a blast.  We were so excited to have our first holiday photo session with Patricia-Marie Photography.  I can always count on her to capture some of the most memorable moments of our life.  She has been taking beautiful photos for us since Blake was in utero!   A little bit of background…we took these photos in the very beginning of November on a gorgeous FALL day.  I wanted to… Read more »

I was so excited when I found this birch wood wrapping paper at Pier 1.   Green ink and wood tags are going to give this paper a nice pop of color.  I decided to use different shades of green as an accent color with neutral wrapping paper.  All of the items below can be found at Michael’s except for the wrapping paper. Another successful find in the check-out aisle at Michael’s – a nice monogram stamp.   Happy Wrapping!

We are so excited to spend this season with our new little addition to the family! Last Christmas we got our tree from Carter’s in Miller Place.  It’s right around the corner from where we live and I actually took my first steps there when I was little.  A great experience if you live on Long Island and haven’t gotten your tree yet! Our first family tree! I love this general store right outside the tree farm! Would love to… Read more »
