I’ve been having so much fun decorating for Fall. Here are a few DIY projects that I worked on for the season. DIY Fall Sign To be totally honest I really didn’t have any direction for this project. Derek had some extra wood and I wanted to make a rustic looking sign…that’s it! At one point I actually thought this would end up in the trash but the result surprised me! Pumpkin Bell Jars Floating Candles for Fall

Last month we had a beautiful baptism for our little guy. I thought I would share some of the personal touches and projects that made the day extra special. These are the centerpieces that I made for the tables along with the favors that we gave out.

About a year ago we started out with an inspiration board and a lackluster space… Our finished product today is… The paint color is Alpaca by Sherwin Williams. The crib, bedding, and light fixture are from RH baby&child. We found the dresser and end table in an antique store for $75 and I refinished them with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in cream. These signs were a custom order from Vinyl Crafts on Etsy. The mirror is from Homegoods…. Read more »

Here are some quick and easy crafts that I came up with for Valentine’s Day this year! All you need are doilies, a couple of different pieces of scrapbook paper, and ribbon or twine. 1. Doily Heart Garland I cut out hearts from scrapbook paper and glued them to the middle of the doily. Then I used twine to string them together. If you see that the doilies are starting to curl from the glue put a book or something… Read more »

Follow my blog with Bloglovin I found this post on Pinterest and I thought about how great it would be to start a new family tradition this year. Basically you start with an empty jar on January 1st and throughout the year you write down memorable moments on little pieces of paper. On December 31st you sit and go through all of the different memories that were documented throughout the year via this little jar. Here is my take… Read more »

I am always looking for new craft ideas and the holidays give me an excuse to experiment! I usually start out by wandering around Michael’s and I know I am in trouble when I grab a wagon instead of a basket to shop! This is what I came home with after my shopping trip… So I started making some of my usual labels… I was a little bored until I came across this great post on one of… Read more »

I knew when we bought this house that I wanted gray siding with a pretty blue front door. It was easy to pick out the siding and the front door. The tricky part was finding the perfect shade of blue! Here is what I was looking for – something that stands out enough to make a statement but not the kind of blue that looks like it belongs on a door in the Caribbean. Does that make sense? Okay good…. Read more »

I’m just going to start by saying…better late than never! Can’t believe I wrote my first Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint post almost two months ago and I am just getting around to posting part II now! Part II is all about the wax! I mentioned in my first post that I am pregnant so my husband took care of this part for me. All of the materials that were used in this post can be found at Suite Pieces in… Read more »

So some of the dust is finally settling with our renovation and with that comes…crafting! I’ve been going a little stir crazy not having a place to play with modge podge or make something pretty to put around the house. About two weeks ago I took a trip to Suite Pieces in Huntington Station on my way home from work and picked up some goodies. If you like antiques I recommend making a stop in! I definitely plan on going… Read more »

This year three of my good friends were getting married and taking trips to Paris. I wanted to get them something that would celebrate their trips as well as this special time in their lives. Getting them each a padlock for the love lock bridge was the first thing that came to mind! In my search to find the perfect padlock I came across a great company that is based in Brooklyn, New York. Make Love Locks had so many… Read more »
