I started out the holiday season with a simple and neutral tablescape…

This is the third time that I've used the these birch wood rounds…can't get enough of them!

We will be hosting Christmas Day in our house for the first time this year so I wanted to switch it up a bit and add some color.

IMG_0877 If you look at the first picture you can see that I really didn’t change that much.  The red berries were on sale from Michaels for $1 and I bought the roses at the food store this morning. I am so excited to use our fine china for the first time ever.  I also bought this antique silverware a few years ago and have yet to use it.

I used some of this year’s gift wrapping twine and wooden tags to tie the silverware together.

IMG_0921 Looking ahead one of our projects (one of many) for the new year will be to spruce up this dining room wall.  our plan is to add some crown moulding and horizontal stripes in a lighter shade of greige.   IMG_0901 Merry Christmas to you & yours!
