I never really “decorated” our little living space when we moved in because of all of the construction.  Once we had Blake and I knew our friends and family were going to come over to visit him I figured it was time to throw something together.

After we repainted I started with this couch from Home Decorators Collection, an Ikea TV table that we had in our apartment, and a few frames.

The funny thing is…this couch is now in storage.  I still love it though and when we move I’m sure I’ll use it again. This room was supposed to be a secondary living space but it turned out to be the primary living space as soon as we had Blake.

Anyway we decided on a sectional…

This picture is a little dark but this is what happened after one trip to Target. I walked out with the rug, lamps, and curtains/curtain rods.

Couch – Raja sofa in stone from Macy’s

Throw pillows – Pier 1

Rug, curtains, and curtain rod – Target

TV stand – Ikea

Paint (wall with front door) – Anew Gray by Sherwin William

Paint (wall with the TV) – Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams

I knew this was a little too dark for me but it worked for a few months.  Then it was time to call Annie Sloan…

Check out my post on using chalk paint here and here for using clear and dark wax.

I love the raised lattice pattern on the rug! Great find from Joss & Main.

I might switch out the DIY photo canvas for some frames in different colors and sizes. In this picture the wall is looking a little flat to me.

I can’t get enough of these colors!

Here’s a close up of the pillows we used in our flip

These pillows came in a set of two from Target. I think the lattice pattern will compliment the new rug and stencil I plan to do in the dinning room.

Rug – Joss & Main

TV stand – Ikea (same as above) painted in pure white Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  Hardware is from Suite Pieces in Huntington Station but you can find similar pieces at Anthropologie.

Throw pillows – Target and Joss & Main

I’m looking into some storage options for either side of the TV stand.  I love these pretty baskets from Serena & Lily

Instead of  an ottoman I’m thinking of using this pouf from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child
